Freshness and flavor.

Spinach Beets Watermelon Berries

We believe the most convincing reason to maintain a home garden is flavor, pure and simple. If you’ve ever eaten peas off the vine in the spring or tasted the crispness of freshly harvested salad greens, then you know: there is no comparison to fruits and vegetables that were picked mere moments ago. By the time you get a bunch of store-bought spinach into your refrigerator, it may already be a week old. No wonder it wilts so quickly!

Health and the kitchen.

Homegrown, naturally raised fruits and vegetables are some of the healthiest foods around. Not only do you know exactly what went into growing your dinner -- no harmful pesticides or herbicides -- but studies have proven them to be richer in vitamins and nutrients than conventionally grown produce. "Eating right" isn't complicated: the most elegant path to good health is simply cooking meals yourself with real, fresh ingredients.

Convenience and customization.

We can assemble your harvest weekly, and leave the fruits (and vegetables) of your garden right on your doorstep, saving you trips to the store and giving you more time enjoy meals with your friends and family. Each garden is unique, reflecting your tastes. Have you ever wished for locally grown black beans, or struggled to find a rare variety of pepper? You can have them in your backyard.

Sustainability and the environment.

Produce in the supermarket is usually grown with petrochemical-based fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides, depleting natural resources and harming plants, animals, and waterways. It then travels thousands of miles to the store, using even more petrochemicals. Food from your garden travels mere feet, and we build your garden's fertility using only organic amendments. Often, nutrient-rich, all-natural compost is all you need to feed your plants!
